Chili for Dogs or Pie
2 lbs. ground sirloin 1 large onion, chopped 1/2 cup chili powder 1 tablespoon cumin 1/4 – 1/2 cup pickled jalapenos, chopped 4 tablespoons juice from canned jalapenos 2 6oz. cans tomato paste 1 1/2 cups water Few pinches of sugar salt and pepper to taste
Cook meat and onions together. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer on low about 30 minutes, stirring frequently.
For Frito Pie: Spread 1 or 2 handfuls of Frito’s corn chips in bottom of large shallow bowl. Cover with chili, chopped onions and grated cheddar cheese.
For Chili Dogs: Place cooked hot dog in a soft white bun. Cover with chili, onions and cheese. |
