Boiled Shrimp
2 lb. raw shrimp (end result will be 1 lb. cooked shrimp) 12 cups water 6 tablespoons salt (yes that’s right)
Cocktail Sauce 1 cup ketchup 4 tablespoons lemon juice 1 rounded tablespoon prepared horseradish
Peel and devein shrimp. Set aside. Bring water and salt to boil over high heat in Dutch oven. Add Shrimp. Return to boil. Reduce heat to low and gently boil 3 minutes. Drain well and rinse. Serve with cocktail sauce.
Note: This can be done without peeling the shrimp. Double the amount of salt used. |
