Patti’s Green Bean Tomato Casserole
1/2 lb. bacon, diced 1/2 cup flour 3 cans Del Monte green beans, drained 1 14 oz. can diced or stewed tomatoes 1 can French fried onions
Cook bacon. Remove bacon to paper towels; leave grease in pan. Whisk in flour and cook about 2 minutes. Stir tomatoes into flour mixture to form a thin gravy. If too thick add more tomatoes or liquid from bean cans. Stir in green beans and reserved bacon. Place in casserole dish and bake at 350 about 40 minutes or until bubbly in center. Top with French fried onions and return to oven for ten more minutes. |
