Lemon Drop

1 ½ oz. vodka

½ oz. Cointreau

2 tsp superfine sugar (or 1 Tablespoon simple syrup – see below)

¾ oz. freshly squeezed lemon juice

Shake with ice and strain into martini glass rimmed with lemon juice and sugar.

Simple syrup

Equal parts sugar and water. Bring water to boil, add sugar and simmer, stirring constanly until all sugar is completely dissolved.  Cool before using.
