3/4 cup tequila

1/4 cup Cointreau or Triple Sec

1/2 cup FRESH SQUEEZED lime juice

6 Tablespoons sugar

4-6 cups ice cubes

Mix first four ingredients.  Stir to dissolve sugar.  Put ice in blender.  Pour margarita mixture over ice.  Blend on low until ice is crushed, and then finish off on high until velvety smooth. Makes 4 small (8 oz) drinks.

Note:  Not just any blender will work for these.  I’ve found only older Hamilton Beach blenders are up to the job (available only at garage sales.)
