Gingerbread Cake

Gingerbread Cake

 

3/4 cup white sugar

1/2 cup Crisco

1 egg

1/2 cup molasses

1 tsp. each cinnamon and ginger

1/2 tsp. salt

1 1/2 cup all purpose flour

 

Mix all together in a large bowl with electric mixer.  Add 1 cup boiling water with 1 tsp. baking soda added.  Mix quickly.  Pour into greased 8” x 8” baking pan.  Bake at 325 for 50-60 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
