Brownies without Compare
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter 4 oz. unsweetened choclate, broken into pieces 2 cups dark brown sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 2 tsp. vanilla extract 3 eggs 1 cup flour 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375. Grease a 9” square baking pan. In large microwave proof bowl (6 cup Pyrex measuring cup works great), melt butter. Stir in baking chocolate until completely melted.
Stir in sugar, salt, vanilla and eggs. Beat until smooth. Stir in flour. Mix until well combined. Stir in chocolate chips. Bake for 20-25 minutes. Brownies are done when toothpick inserted in center comes out with fudgy crumbs on it. Do not overbake!
Note: Use other types of chips (peanut butter, white chocolate, mint chocolate) for variation.
